I have been looking at different Twitter accounts that focus on elementary education.  Most of the accounts have had posts that pertain to community service projects that the students have participated in.  The accounts also make posts whenever there are important dates or holidays coming up such as Valentine's Day.  Twitter can be helpful in the future because it gives teachers ideas on community service projects and field trips that the students can go to and interact with.  It also keeps teachers posted on different holidays and important milestones throughout the school year.

The digital divide is a gap between people who can access technology and use it efficiently and those who do not have access to technology.  The digital divide can have a huge impact on student success depending on how technology based the classroom is.  If a child has never used a laptop before and then they go to a school where that is all that they use, the child will have a hard time adjusting to the new environment.  Some causes of the digital divide could be poverty, community, or even religion.  A teacher might have a hard time trying to compensate for the child that isn't familiar with technology because they would have to adjust their lesson plan to try and help the student and they wouldn't be able to teach as efficiently as they should be able to.

As a kindergarten teacher i would implement academic software that would help further their reading and math skills.  Success Maker Reading would help them with their reading skills while still being fun and interactive.  I also think that Cool Math Games would be good for kindergartners because it involves problem solving, critical thinking, and math.
